Sustainability programme
The sustainability programme outlines our strategy for implementing sustainable practices and monitoring the effectiveness of these measures. Our sustainability programme is based on a materiality assessment, through which we have identified our impacts on people, the environment, and society.
Oulun Energia Group’s sustainability programme and group-level targets are approved by Oulun Energia Oy’s board of directors. The director of sustainability, a member of the management team, oversees the operations of the sustainability unit. The sustainability unit ensures that sustainability is managed and developed across the entire Group, ensuring compliance with sustainability requirements and the achievement of strategic goals.
Our sustainability reporting is currently voluntary. We had already prepared for the requirements of the sustainability reporting standards, but due to the Omnibus legislative initiative, higher applicability thresholds will be introduced for sustainability reporting, and Oulu Energy will not fall within the scope of the reporting obligation. Our latest annual and sustainability report has been prepared in accordance with the lighter VSME standard (Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs). Our report has not been assured by a third party.
