Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy to sell Jakkukylä electricity network in Ii to Iin Energia Oy
Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy and Iin Energia Oy have agreed on a deal that will see the transfer of the majority of the electricity network serving the village of Jakkukylä in Ii to Iin Energia Oy on 1 January 2024.
The deal is part of Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy’s strategic efforts. With the deal, Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy aims to clarify the electricity supply areas managed by the company in relation to geographical locations and borders between municipalities.
“Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy originally acquired the electricity network of Jakkukylä in Yli-Ii in 2013 when the electricity operations of Yli-Iin Sähkö Oy were merged with our business operations as a result of the incorporation of municipalities in the Oulu region. Jakkukylä is located within the borders of the municipality of Ii and I am glad that we can now leave the area's electricity network in the capable hands of Iin Energia Oy”, Anna Pasma, CEO of Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy, says.
As a result of the deal, the electricity network and energy supply agreements of just over 200 customers will be transferred from Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy to Iin Energia Oy at the end of the year. Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy has already notified customers in the area of the change through personal letters.
“This is a great opportunity for Iin Energia Oy to add the electricity network in Jakkukylä, which is located in Ii, to our current network. We will provide our new network customers with more information about the practical aspects of this change later this year”, Jouni Perälä, Electrical Network Director at Iin Energia Oy, says.
