Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy’s Network Service Fees to Increase from 1 January 2026

04.11.2025 / Last updated 00:00

Oulun Energia Sähköverkko Oy will increase its network service fees (formerly distribution rate) as of 1 January 2026. The taxable network service fees will rise by an average of 3.9 per cent. Value added tax and electricity tax are invoiced alongside the network service fee.

The network service payment covers costs of the electricity network company, of which up to 90% are fixed costs. The need for an increase is driven by rising general costs of maintaining and constructing the electricity network, higher transmission system charges, and investment requirements linked to the rapid reinforcement of the grid.

The transmission capacity of the electricity network now faces unprecedented development needs as the green transition and energy transformation progress. We must respond to growing electricity consumption and develop the network to meet the needs of society and our customers. Investments are required, for example, to expand existing substations and build high- and medium-voltage networks to ensure sufficient capacity for industrial and transport electrification, the construction of data centres and energy storage facilities, and the wider adoption of electricity-based technologies.

Even after the increase, our network service fees will remain below the national average.

You can view the new price list, effective from 1 January 2026, here.

Customers will be informed of the change in network service fees personally during week 45

In accordance with the network service terms (VPE2024) effective from 1 December 2024, we will send contract confirmations and notifications of price and terms changes primarily by email to the customer’s current email address.
