There was a serious work accident yesterday, 15 November at 10 a.m. at our Laanila ecopower plant, resulting in the death of a contractor’s worker doing maintenance work at the power plant.

Power plant maintenance work is suspended and staff and contractors in the region are offered trauma counselling. 

“We are all very shocked by what happened. Oulun Energia’s employees express their condolences to the relatives of the deceased,” states Pertti Vanhala, Business Director.

The police and the Regional State Administrative Agency are investigating the accident and we are assisting where we can. The authorities will inform the public about progress on the case.
