Oulun Energia and Oomi Solar to Launch Smart Multi‑Energy Optimisation for the Vihreäsaari Solar Power Plant in Oulu

Oomi Solar Oy’s Vihreäsaari solar power plant will be connected to Oulun Energia’s new multi‑energy optimisation service. The solution enables intelligent control of the solar power plant, ensuring its electricity production can be utilised as efficiently, profitably and responsibly as possible.
Within the service, the renewable electricity produced by the solar power plant is utilised both on the electricity spot market and on Fingrid’s reserve markets. This creates new revenue streams and cost benefits for the customer while supporting the balance of the entire Finnish electricity system.
“It is great to welcome Oomi Solar’s Vihreäsaari solar power plant into our multi‑energy optimisation service. There are still very few solar‑based reserves in Finland capable of providing balancing power and flexibility to maintain the electricity balance,” says Reijo Pantsar, Head of VPP Business at Oulun Energia.
